How to Join
Practice Participant
The Fresno State NCWA Wrestling program welcomes enrolled Fresno State students who wish to train alongside our team in a structured practice environment. All practices are held Monday through Friday, 6:30–8:30 p.m. in the North Gym – Room 201 (Wrestling Room). These times are reserved for the team and are coordinated around kinesiology classes and other sports programs.
As a recognized club sport, we operate under the regulations of Fresno State Club Sports and the University’s Student Affairs division. All participants must complete the proper registration steps before being allowed to join practices. Walk-ins are not permitted due to space, safety, and liability requirements.
Practice Eligibility Requirements
To participate in team practices, you must:
Be a currently enrolled Fresno State student or an approved registered volunteer coach through the University.
Submit the required interest form, including your Full Name, Fresno State Email, and Student ID.
Apply for and be approved for club membership through ENGAGE, Fresno State’s online club registration platform.
Complete DoSportsEasy registration through Fresno State Student Affairs, including a cleared concussion baseline test.

Team Member
Becoming an official Fresno State NCWA Wrestling Team Member means representing the Bulldogs in competition at local, regional, and national events. To be eligible, you must first meet all Practice Participant requirements and complete the additional competitive eligibility steps outlined below.
Team Member Eligibility Requirements
In addition to the practice requirements, a team member must:
Have at least one year of college wrestling eligibility remaining.
(Athletes are limited to a total of four years of competition—consecutive or not—in the NCWA, NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, 3C2A, or any combination thereof.)Be enrolled in at least 6 units at Fresno State.
(Graduating seniors are exempt if they will complete their degree requirements at the end of the current semester.)Maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher.
(First-year freshmen are exempt from the GPA requirement.)Register with the NCWA Clearinghouse, which includes:
NCWA registration fee
Individual Waiver and Release of Liability Form
Headshot photo
Completion of a 10-day practice period before becoming eligible to compete
Sign the official team contract, agreeing to program policies, expectations, and standards of conduct.
Athletes who meet these requirements will join a competitive and disciplined program dedicated to achieving excellence at the state and national levels.
