Fresno State Qualifies Seven to Nationals at NCWA West Coast Conference Championships
The Fresno State Wrestling Club traveled to St. George, Utah, for the NCWA West Coast Conference Championships hosted by Dixie State University. The Bulldogs qualified all seven of their competitors for the NCWA National Championships. Leading the way was 125-pounder Matt Gamble, who captured a conference title with three straight pins.
Bulldogs Crown Three Champions at NCWA California State Championships
The Fresno State Wrestling Club came away with three individual champions at the NCWA California State Championships in Los Angeles, highlighted by the debut of 2014 CIF State Champion Matt Gamble, who stormed through the 133-pound bracket. Heavyweight Riley Budd and women’s standout Rossana Aguilar also claimed titles, while several other Bulldogs turned in strong performances against the California field.

The Fresno State Wrestling Club hit the road to St. George, Utah, on January 19, 2019, to compete at the Trailblazer Invitational hosted by Dixie State University. The event provided valuable mat time for both the men’s and women’s squads as they continue to prepare for the second half of the season.

Fresno State traveled to Forest Grove, Oregon for the Mike Clock Open, with the women competing on Saturday, November 10, and the men on Sunday, November 11. The highlight came from Mai Xiong, who delivered a breakout performance capped by two dominant pins.
