Bulldogs Compete at Revived NCWA California State Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — February 11, 2023

The Fresno State Wrestling Club traveled to Sacramento for the return of the NCWA California State Championships.

While the tournament marked the return of the traditional California State event following the COVID-19 pandemic, California's NCWA membership was still in the rebuilding stages. The tournament featured wrestlers from Sacramento State, San Jose State, UCLA, USC, UC Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa Junior College, and UNLV. The day also included a women's scrimmage dual between the newly formed Fresno City and Sacramento City CCCAA programs, along with additional exhibition matches featuring collegiate women's wrestlers.

The tournament served as another opportunity for Fresno State's young roster to gain experience before closing out the regular season and turning its attention toward the conference championships.
