About

The Veterans Day Duals is Fresno State NCWA Wrestling’s annual collegiate wrestling showcase, hosted at the Fresno State Student Recreation Center – West Gym. The event now spans two days and features nonstop wrestling action across four mats, bringing together college programs from across California and neighboring states.

Unlike a traditional individual tournament, the Veterans Day Duals is centered on team competition. Each squad faces multiple dual meets, with both men’s and women’s divisions competing for the Veterans Day Duals Championship Belt. The belt is awarded to the top team in each division and must be defended each year at the same tournament, creating a growing tradition that celebrates team pride and consistency.

The event is sanctioned through the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA) and serves as one of the largest collegiate club wrestling events in California. It provides crucial early-season opportunities for new and developing programs to compete, grow, and gain experience against quality opponents.

The Veterans Day Duals also serves as a tribute to the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The tournament embodies the shared values of respect, discipline, and perseverance that define both wrestling and military service.

By hosting the Veterans Day Duals, the Fresno State NCWA Wrestling program continues to grow the sport of college wrestling while proudly showcasing that wrestling is alive and thriving at Fresno State.
