An athletic scholarship does not always mean a more affordable education. When comparing schools, look at the full cost—including tuition, housing, financial aid, grants, and what you will actually be responsible for paying.
As part of the California State University system, Fresno State provides access to a four-year public university education at California resident tuition rates. Qualifying students may also receive financial aid, including federal and state grants.
For Central Valley students, attending Fresno State may also provide the option to remain close to home, potentially reducing housing and travel expenses while earning your degree.

At Fresno State, you can be part of a close-knit wrestling team while attending a large public university with NCAA Division I athletics, campus events, student organizations, academic resources, and opportunities far beyond wrestling.
Go to Bulldog football games. Get involved on campus. Meet people outside the wrestling room. Pursue your degree while still having a team to train, travel, and compete with.

Your Wrestling Experience Doesn't Have to Stop at the State Line
You don't have to leave California for college to experience wrestling outside of it. Fresno State provides the opportunity to stay close to home while still traveling to compete against programs across the country.
Since 2023, our wrestlers have traveled to competitions in California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Louisiana, and beyond. As our program and competition schedule continue to grow, we plan to keep adding new destinations and opportunities for our athletes.
