About
Fresno State NCWA Wrestling (formerly named Fresno State Wrestling Club) is a student-run club program that allows students to continue competing at the collegiate level while earning their degree at Fresno State.
Established in 2013 as part of the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA), the program is a competitive club sport within Fresno State’s Club Sports department and fields both men’s and women’s teams.
What does “Club Sport” mean?
As a student-run club sport, Fresno State NCWA Wrestling operates differently than a varsity athletics program. Here's what that means for our team and student-athletes.

What the Club Sport Experience Provides
Being part of a student-run program offers opportunities that go beyond competition. Team members have the chance to take an active role in the program, develop as leaders, and shape their college experience both on and off the mat.

Opportunity to train up to five days per week in our on-campus wrestling room during the season.

A scheduled season of competition against NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, 3C2A, and fellow NCWA programs.

What is the NCWA?
The National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA) is the governing body for non-NCAA, non-NAIA, non-NJCAA, and non-3C2A college wrestling.
Sponsors Men’s and Women’s divisions.
Follows NCAA rules and weight classes.
(With the addition of Men’s 235lbs and Women’s 240lbs)Clears clubs to compete against college programs.
