Bulldogs Split Opening Duals at UNLV Tri-Dual
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — November 8, 2019
The Fresno State Wrestling Club opened the 2019-20 season on November 8, traveling to Las Vegas for a tri-dual against conference opponents Arizona and host UNLV at the McDermott Physical Education Complex.
Featuring a largely new roster from the previous season, the Bulldogs opened the year with a split in conference competition. Fresno State defeated Arizona, 35-17, before falling to host UNLV, 48-6. The event marked the first opportunity for the Bulldogs' new lineup to compete together during the 2019-20 campaign.
The Bulldogs recorded bonus-point victories against Arizona from Isaac Warf and Domenic Garcia, while Eduardo Davila, Irvin Vides, Sadaqut Zamani, and Riley Budd each added wins by forfeit. Against UNLV, Elyus Murrietta recorded Fresno State's lone victory of the dual. Jamilynne Gonzalez also earned a first-period fall over Arizona's Clemmy Tixier in an extra women's bout.
