Bulldogs Collect Two Titles at UNLV Invitational
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — December 5, 2021
The Fresno State Wrestling Club traveled to Las Vegas on December 5 to compete at the UNLV Invitational, a small tournament featuring wrestlers from UNLV, Grand Canyon, and Fresno State.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs was newcomer Nicholas Martino, who captured the 174-pound title in his first tournament with the program. The younger brother of former Fresno State NCAA Division I starter Brandon Martino, Nicholas rolled through the bracket and recorded the tournament's fastest fall on his way to the championship.
Ricardo Jauregui also claimed a tournament title at heavyweight, while Andres Cardona finished second at 184 pounds. Joshua White rounded out Fresno State's lineup at 165 pounds.
