Bulldogs Gain Experience at Battle at Sparta

SAN JOSE, Calif. – November 16, 2025

The Bulldogs participated in the 2nd Annual Battle at Sparta to gain valuable early season mat time. Select athletes competed across combined weight classes to maximize opportunities for live competition.

Head Coach Jovany Gonzalez commented following the event:

“The goal of today was to assess where our athletes were in their development, to collect data on where we need to improve upon. We got to see teammates wrestle off against each other. We're still in November, we haven’t even finished the first month of competition yet. Where we are now is not indicative of where we will be come March.”

With multiple athletes competing above or across standard weight classes, the day provided exposure to different match styles and pacing. The focus remained on development, live evaluation, and technical growth as the team continues to move through the opening portion of the season.
