Two Bulldogs Capture Titles at Utah Tech Stampede Invitational

ST. GEORGE, Utah – November 22, 2025

The Fresno State NCWA Wrestling squad wrapped up its final competition before Thanksgiving break by bringing home two tournament champions at the Utah Tech Stampede Invitational. Junior transfer Emmanuel Plascencia and freshman Jocelynn Benitez each won their respective weight classes, leading a small but competitive Bulldog lineup.

Competing in his first individual tournament appearance for Fresno State, Plascencia entered the 141 pound bracket as the number one seed and secured three consecutive pin fall victories to claim the tournament title. His finals match against Ryker Maestas of Snow College featured a brief scramble exchange before Plascencia secured the fall.

On the women’s side, 103 pounder Jocelynn Benitez completed an outstanding run to the championship. She opened the tournament with a 15-1 major decision over the 2024 NCWA 109 pound national champion, followed by a 16-1 tech fall over the 2025 NCWA 103 pound national champion.
