The Fresno State women’s wrestling team returned to action at the Menlo Women’s Open on November 5, 2023, in Atherton, Calif. Competing against one of the toughest women’s college fields on the West Coast, the Bulldogs gained valuable early-season experience in a quick turnaround weekend.

The Fresno State Wrestling Club competed at the Bill Musick Open on November 4, 2023, at Fresno City College in Fresno, Calif. Entered late as a replacement event, the tournament provided early-season mat time for a young Bulldog lineup navigating a transitional period within the program.

Fresno State closed out the 2018–19 season with grit and pride at the NCWA National Championships in Allen, Texas, as three Bulldog seniors — Mai Xiong, Rossana Aguilar, and Matt Gamble — capped their collegiate careers with All-American finishes.

The Fresno State Wrestling Club traveled to St. George, Utah, for the NCWA West Coast Conference Championships hosted by Dixie State University. The Bulldogs qualified all seven of their competitors for the NCWA National Championships. Leading the way was 125-pounder Matt Gamble, who captured a conference title with three straight pins.

The Fresno State Wrestling Club came away with three individual champions at the NCWA California State Championships in Los Angeles, highlighted by the debut of 2014 CIF State Champion Matt Gamble, who stormed through the 133-pound bracket. Heavyweight Riley Budd and women’s standout Rossana Aguilar also claimed titles, while several other Bulldogs turned in strong performances against the California field.

The Fresno State Wrestling Club hit the road to St. George, Utah, on January 19, 2019, to compete at the Trailblazer Invitational hosted by Dixie State University. The event provided valuable mat time for both the men’s and women’s squads as they continue to prepare for the second half of the season.

Fresno State traveled to Forest Grove, Oregon for the Mike Clock Open, with the women competing on Saturday, November 10, and the men on Sunday, November 11. The highlight came from Mai Xiong, who delivered a breakout performance capped by two dominant pins.

Fresno State Wrestling Club hosted Sacramento State, UC Riverside, and Cal Poly SLO at the South Gym to kick off the 2018-19 campaign. The Bulldogs went 2–1 in team action, with early highlights across the roster.

Wrestling three weight classes above her norm, Rossana Aguilar stormed to the finals at the NCWA Nationals, earning All-American honors and adding another milestone to Fresno State’s wrestling legacy.

With only four wrestlers making the trip to Bullhead City, Arizona, the Fresno State Wrestling Club found silver linings at the 2018 NCWA West Coast Conference Championships, highlighted by Rossana Aguilar’s continued dominance at 143 lbs in women's action.
